God’s Government of His Creation

I’m so grateful for the prayers of the Weather Committee, and for God’s government and protection of His kingdom.

During a tropical storm several months ago, there was prediction of tornadoes in thirteen New Jersey counties. The Weather Committee prayed, as did other church members, and none of the predictions materialized. Nor did we have days of torrential rain as predicted. And there have been other instances of God’s protection and care before and after.

William McCrackan writes, “The true atmosphere is, therefore, always harmonious, and the belief that atmosphere is physical can be properly controlled by the spiritual realization of the kingdom of heaven.”

Mrs. Eddy is very clear about God’s dominion over all facets of weather, and ours as His reflection. She insisted on careful and complete watching until everything was returned to normal and the human need was met, as she herself demonstrated with storms, heat, etc.

In Mrs. Eddy’s “Argument for the Weather,” she states, “God governs all, is All-in-all. God is our constant Guide and Guardian. No mortal thought, known or unknown, seen or unseen, can interfere with the manifestation of Love’s presence with us. The weather manifests God’s government, and no evildoers can change this fact. The devils of human thought — all the powers of many minds — are powerless in Love’s presence. God is All. God is Mind.” (Watches Prayers Arguments, pages 100-101.)
