Healing Brings Change of Thought

by

I was attracted to the Plainfield Church many years ago because there was a very clear practitioner here — very clear, very strong, very loving. She raised people from the dead, she healed people in the last stages of cancer, and every healing that she experienced was through Christian Science treatment.

Some of those healings were very quick, but some of them took a long time. One of the things I have learned is that sometimes a quick healing is not what I need — sometimes I have to change my thought in order to be more useful to God. Until I do, I need to keep working at it. So, whether I'm healed slowly or quickly is really up to me and my relationship with God. But, whether the healings have been fast or slow, I'm most grateful for the lessons that I have learned.

It reminds me of Jesus healing the ten lepers that passed by. How many of them came back to give thanks, or to learn about what it was that actually healed them? Only one came back. Quick healings are not always the best thing. But God knows what we need! I'm grateful that Christian Science uncovers what needs to be uncovered, changes what needs to be changed, and heals everywhere on this earth — everywhere in the universe.

I'm so grateful to Mary Baker Eddy for discovering this Science, and for having the courage, and the love to put it in a textbook, and teach people, so that all mankind has access now to this Science of Christian healing. The love of God does heal, and Mary Baker Eddy gives us much to work with — it is so provable. I thank God I found this church. It was God’s plan. He knows everyone, everywhere, and I thank God that He takes us in, schools us, and makes us better workers, and better people, and shows us what He made.
