Christian Science Healing

I found a statement in Mrs. Eddy’s book, Miscellaneous Writings, several years ago when I really needed to make some changes in my life, because I was sick, deeply depressed, and nothing was going right. At that time I came across this statement: “One must get out of himself and into God so far that his consciousness is the reflection of the divine.”

That statement has stayed with me for a long time, and it’s brought me through a lot of things that were not easy. But to realize that if things are not right, if I’m seeing something very wrong in my life or anywhere, I must get out of myself, this human selfhood and personality, and into God.

Error comes at us aggressively and says, “This problem is too big. What are you going to do about it? How can you pray over this?” And that’s when we answer, “Get thee behind me, Satan! Truth will heal this situation so far that my consciousness is the reflection of the divine.” The statement given in Miscellaneous Writings is a reminder to get to God, and to get there in a hurry, and to trust Him.

The idea that anything can be overwhelming to God’s man is not true. The truth is that man is the image and likeness of God, that God loves him, and that God’s man can turn to Him every moment, and get an answer of peace and well-being.

In my own life, broken bones have been healed immediately, a heart ailment has been healed quickly, and cancer has been destroyed.

God is a God of love and of kindness. He will not let anyone be desolate, if they will only open their heart and turn to Him in sincerity. God heals. We’ve seen it proved, and we’re proving it right now.
