A Path in the Mighty Waters

by

Have you ever had a time in your life when you felt trapped by a difficult experience, a feeling that there was absolutely no way out? I can remember that feeling, and I can remember falling on my knees in utter desperation, asking God to help me find a way, His way, to safety.

Turning to my Bible, I opened to Isaiah 44:15, 16, which reads, “I am the Lord, your Holy one, the creator of Israel, your King. Thus saith the Lord, which maketh a way in the sea, a path in the mighty waters.”

At that point, tears of joy streamed down my face, because I knew this was a message sent directly from my Father. If God can make a way in the mighty waters, He can and will lead us out of any so-called impossible situation! These Bible messages are not mere idle words, but promises from the Lord God Almighty, Himself. Can we not trust His love for us?

The verses in Isaiah continue with, “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing.” In order to move forward, we need to leave the past behind us. All the hurt feelings, grudges, injustices, whatever it may be — give them up, lay them down, once and for all. The Bible teaches us that God requires our past. All that is true about what we have experienced is the good we have gained from it. God has always been by our side, watching over us. He will surely make the “desert blossom as the rose.” (Isa.)

Once these lessons entered deep within my heart, God did make a way in the wilderness, I left the past behind with a joyful heart, and trusted God with His good plan. The pathway out of that troubling time became clear and bright and shining, full of promise. And it proved to bring great spiritual growth and blessings. Take hope, dear reader, for God can surely do this wondrous thing for you.

Take His hand today and walk fearlessly on His holy road, the way out of all human bondage. You will be so glad you did!
