“This Place Has Changed Hands”

by

Have you ever been bombarded with negative mental suggestions about yourself? Perhaps you became “deviled” with past mistakes or with thoughts of fear or discouragement.

There is a very helpful statement by Edward Kimball in his book entitled Lectures and Articles on Christian Science. Mr. Kimball is quoted as saying, “You don’t have to be afraid. Take God at His word, ‘Be not afraid.’ As soon as possible, you want to put out an advertisement mentally, ‘This place has changed hands!’”

So, dear reader, when fear or worry come knocking at your door, stoutly declare for yourself, “This place has changed hands!! That old man with his deeds, that once claimed to be me and would listen to all those rotten suggestions, has been booted out forever! I now know I am the child of God and I know I always have been. He loves me and cares for me. He never gives us the ‘spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.’ (II Tim. 1:7) I will not listen to your lies. I will listen to only what my loving heavenly Father tells me. I know I am being obedient to His commands when I cast error out and trust in Him!”

Watch what happens as you keep declaring this truth about yourself. All those negative suggestions will no longer be able to get a foothold in your thought. Mrs. Eddy’s command, “Stand porter at the door of thought” (S&H p. 392) will become a reality in your life. This place HAS changed hands!
